Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I have a question I'm hoping the porting community can answer. We do a lot of app dev for Android, but a potential new client has a need for both an app and possibly some dedicated hardware to put it on.
Ideally I'd like something about phone size, with at least a 320x480 screen. Hardware specs can be modest. We need a way to communicate with one of the major US cellular networks, but only for data. It can be a lower spec connection (like what payment systems and embedded devices might use). Are there any manufacturers out there that produce something like that? The numbers would be low to start, so having something custom made would be cost prohibitive. I'm hoping there's something off the shelf to do what we need. Another option would be to find a lower spec phone and possibly modify the OS build.
