Hello, I am trying to set up SSP pairing mode on my TV stick (connected to TV via HDMI) and want to connect to it using an app on the phone. I would not like to use a USB keyboard/mouse while pairing. I think if I set up Simple Secure Pairing with the passkey displayed on the stick/TV, entering that same passkey on the phone should allow pairing to proceed.
However, I cannot figure out how to get Android to display such a popup. I changed bluez sources to say that the IO capabilities on the stick were DisplayOnly from DisplayYesNo, but it still shows a popup with keys on both ends (the phone App and the TV) which needs to be clicked and confirmed. Any ideas on how to set up this pairing mode on the stick?
