It's vold (or mountd if you are using an old version) to mount your SD
card for you according to configuration defined in /etc/vold.conf.

Take a look in /sys to see whether your SD card is correctly
recognized in kernel (/sys/class/mmc_host/mmc0/mmc0:XXXX/block/
mmcblk0/...,  mmc0 assuming you are using 1st SD slot)

If no problem, then check your vold.conf.
