i use the following pattern in my own customized bpm4struts-cartridge.
model a use-case --> activity with frontendviews for this type i've put a new tagged value named @andromda.struts.tiles.layout. This value is used later to generate PSM-code for struts/tiles configurations. i also removed ALL tiles:insert from every generated jsp.
thereby its possible to only customize your tiles-def.xml and give struts the advise by <forward name="<generated name>" path="<@andromda.struts.tiles.layout> .../>. so customizing your frontend will become more easier, cause the structure of the layout is ONLY customized in the tiles-def.xml files.
another benefit is, u could describe the layout, perhaps with UML or e.g. with XUL ;-), of course very PIM like and later you generate a special PSM e.g. for struts using tiles.
