this is just an idea, but experience tells me users like this kinda stuff...
there is an open-source / free installer available that is very easy to use, it is called izPack (www.izforge.com)
it is VERY well made, cudos to the developer
I think that for first-time users it might be helpful if there is an installer for them to guide them through the setup
process (giving some information at installation time etc...)
this installer is swing GUI'd, and allows to even compile a web-installer (download selected cartridges online !!!)
setup is quite easy too as the documentation is quite complete

ps: although it's not much effort to set it up, I unfortunately am over my head in work, so I won't be able to create an example AndroMDA installer as a POC ... anyway, I hope this info is useful for at least some of you
