you can reinstall libxext6.

I also use centos x86_64 to compile openembedded-
core/meta/recipes-devtools/perl/libxml-parser-perl_2.41.bb
it has no problem.
OE Build Configuration:
BB_VERSION= "1.15.1"
TARGET_ARCH = "arm"
TARGET_OS = "linux-gnueabi"
MACHINE = "beagleboard"
DISTRO=

I see, i thought you used openembedd-release . you were using
angstrom-v2012.5 configuration.
it used eglibc instead of glibc.
check your host OS's gcc and python versions

ok the problem is at libxml-parser-perl_2.41.bb, this is a package for
*-native libxml-parser-perl.
I guess your host system didn't find the proper gcc/g++
which version for your python? and which version for your gcc at your host
OS?
I use python2.6 and gcc (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.3-9ubuntu1) 4.5.4
or you can
bitbake -f -c fetch gcc-cross-initial && bitbake gcc-cross-initial &&
bitbake glibc
completely rebuild your gcc and glibc

bitbake -c clean angstrom-task-gnome
do compile again,
you could provide more information?

in this case, you need to remove pseudodone at your /home/vidal/angstrom
folder,
them build gcc/g++ cross compiler first.

there are something broken in angstrom-distribution.
until now, I haven't got a boot built from the latest git repository.
some versions I built can go to terminal without x11 windows for
systemd-gnome-image.
very time consuming work..

if you use the release image, it wouldn't have problem booted to login
try to fsck /dev/sdb2 to your rootfs if possible.

Dear all,
Could you help to figure out the problem I faced to build beagleboard with
branch 2011.03-maintenance
I got an error on sg3_utils_1.31.bb at do_package() failed
ERROR: Error executing a python function in
/home/danh/DataHouseLinux/angstrom-bb/sources/meta-openembedded/meta-oe/recipes-
Hello,
I did try to compile angstrom from scratch for beagleboard XM-C. it
wouldn't boot up.
the error messages are mostly blaming to
Failed to start Remount Root FS
Failed to start /tmp
Dependncy fauled. Aborted start of Getty on tty1
etc..
I doubt it is due to unstable kernel linux 3.0.25+.
How can I boot the system manually? because I found the same issues as you
did.
