Absolutely not! They (AutoDesk) have even discontinued support for R12 and
R13 and have announced that they will discontinue support for R14 on January
1st, IIRC. A lot of AutoCad users are very unhappy about this and are

As a user of R12 (DOS), I can confirm that R12 works in DOS; in fact, DOS is

Thomas,
There is a command. Call it "refresh" or call it "reload" -- when you
are on a page, simply hit R and Arachne goes to the server and downloads
the page from scratch.
Even if you don't clear your cache routinely, if you've been browsing
for a couple of days and come back to a page, it's

Bell worked on the telephone for a number of years prior to his

could be used to improve the situation for the "profoundly deaf"

To my surprise, pressing "Your computer" icon reboots my machine. Pressing
the "Files" icon next to it works well. I can produce any file list of any
folder, I have also tried to view some files. It works.
Anyway, Arachne stumbles when trying to produce

So there we are, a new arachne systyem in south Bohemia and running
smoothly.
The neighbours were quite surprised that a free internetconnection
through a wessie modem is possible, so they may very well follow.

These are not modem speeds, but port speeds. You
need your port speed to be higher than modem speed
else your modem will be constantly se

According to the website you supplied, Reis's "telephone" was not

When we install/setup Arachne, we are given the choice between using

Hi,
yesterday I've found an "unofficial" ghostscript compiled for DOS
ver. 6.50 on
ftp://ftp.pg.gda.pl:21/TeX/GUST/contrib/PS-supp/gs650dos.zip .
The file contains only dos4gw.exe, gs386.exe and the readme, 1,1MB. Big
enough for me, my connection was very slow. ;)
Maybe thats interesting for s

Come on, then!
I know this is nothing to do with Arachne, but it is to do with
staying with DOS (which has to be good for all of us here), so I hope
you'll forgive me! Does anyone happen to know whether I could download
a working AutoCAD R12 from anywhere?
Thanks for any clues!

Evidently one will need a Windows browser in order
to sign up. I couldn't successfully complete the
signup process with either Arachne or Lynx386.
