Sam, If you do, "unrar /?|more" with the installed version of 2.50, you will see that UNRAR.EXE is FREEWARE. The RAR.EXE part is shareware. There is also a new version of RAR --- 3.00. There are versions [shutter] WINRAR, DOS & OS/2, and Linux. Although the DOS version is named RAR32.EXE

Sam, I have RAR250.EXE and just "installed" it. (Can't remember where or when I got it, but think it was in the past year.) It is for DOS. I got it when there was a discussion on this list about RAR and think that I found it by doing a google search on "RAR". No BEOS.INS file in install.
