Regarding seeing ink levels - check out escputils - they rule!
For a gui representation, check out pyinklevel which is a gdesklet.
You are right tho, I have the R200 also and it prints incredible
pictures. I need to work on cd/dvd printing tho, i've almost got it
working.

Well I guess I shouldnt have said they "suck" but they aren't as good
as the windows ones. And your printer is a different model so the
drivers could be made by a totally different person so that isn't
really relevant.
