[arch] Why ArchLinux make application program launch so slowly

Boot up process is very quick under ArchLinux for not much work to load,but when program when loaded in X window(I use gnome 2.14),such as acroread , kile (need 2 minites or longer) , But I have a Barton 2500+( 3200+highest) 512MB memory,and quickly on other distribution. Why?
