Manufacturers already DO that!
Each chip contains extra rows and columns and they are used by embedded
smart circuits to substitute broken cells (which are always present)
transparently for users.
So I think nothing wrong to do similar things using software :)

by the way tried fedora for some weeks with a damaged ram and i had to
reboot about 30 times/day
and now iam again with arch and havnt rebooted for 3days :
