Its probably a drive failure because I connected it using the 80 pin cable as suggested by some of you in the thread. I didn't see any difference in the cable I purchased and I had previously :( Still CD-R and DVD+-R do read, but CD-RW and DVD+-RW won't. I think I'll get a new drive. Any more
