I'm wondering how was it going with dri and xorg state trackers in gallium3d
stack on ATI chips? Actually AFAIK the mesa stack is ready for r300g, but
there are a lot of work need to be done for other parts(at least testing
work).
For r600g, it's only get quite initial texture support recently.

I have solved this by also downgrading papyon to previous 0.4.6-1, and now
MSN via telepathy-butterfly works again. Hope this issue will be solved
upstream soon.

I have to say althogh he may not act so experienced when facing problems,
I still like guys like David, about his passion in pursuing Linux
deployment in layer offices. I still remember somebody said when David came

Add powersave=0 into kernel line solves flickering problem of i915's.
However, it may cause random lockup of X(on booting) at least on my laptop,
never happen after removing this parameter.
2.6.33 didn't solve this problem either, but I still cannot find a bug
report tracking this problem, any
