Do not know...my pc boots them without problems...so i think it's not a
problem of "writing" method...

Also, i found that my friend's desktop (64-bit) and my old IBM T42 (32-bit)

But not a somewhat old HP desktop (32bit) i use as a fileserver...

It's a IDE drive:
1) wodim --devices
0 dev='/dev/scd0'rwrw-- : 'TSSTcorp' 'CD/DVDW SH-S182D'
2) dmesg | grep sr0
sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 48x/48x writer dvd-ram cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray
And i did try to disable hal...nothing changes...
