After updating my systems yesterday I am getting a line with a fail at
shutdown at the sigterm/killterm point on the screen after exiting
from X.
I can't find anything in the logs directly related to this but I do
have in /var/log/errors/log:

I am using Gnome 2.28, and added the shutdown item to the panel.
While using the shutdown button from the panel, the screen garbles up, and i
don't see the normal shutdown messages, but the computer still shuts down
normally.
nothing is logged related to this.
