it's not possible to expand a partition if you don't have free space
directly after it. It might however be possible to move it. Boot
partition is not necessarily that difficult to reconstruct, even from
scratch.

partitions and there is nothing unusual there in my opinion.

I strongly prefer serial console over any form of console screenreader
when doing virtual machine installs. I think it's better in many ways
but might be more difficult to set up initially.
