Hi Viktor, Django isn't explicitly mentioned as a dependency because its
installation should be taken care of by the pip install arches or pip
install arches-hip commands. I have a feeling that these did not run
correctly for you. Please see my recent response Thomas Paffen on this
forum, bec
Hi Adam,
I have a couple of basic 'Arches-HIP' installation question. In the
'Arches-HIP' installation document

among the dependencies I did not find any mentioning of Django. I did

The logical answer and the prospective designer tool are the best answers I
could have hoped for! :-)
You just brought down in half the first rough extentions costs I had.
Have a good weekend.

Adam,
In order of your questions asked, the answers are no and yes. The DB only
enforces that the graphs contain classes and properties that are loaded to the

"source"/"target" pair. Is this enforced anywhere in the database? Also,

Hi Philippel,
It sounds like what you are really asking for is this: What are the steps
necessary to build an Arches Application (something different from the pre-made
“HIP” application) that includes ontology beyond CIDOC CRM? In the interest of
helping you get to where I think you are looking
Hello,
I am not sure if I should open a new thread with this, but it seems the
right place to start.
Considering implementation considerations.
We are working on a regular basis with Django, so we have been mandated to
evaluate costs of implementing Arches.

Hi Adam,
Thank you very much for your prompt answer. It is certainly totally clear now.
I have copied Mai on this email as she is our technical support at present. She
will also be customising the software so will probably have more questions
later!
Happy New Year!

Hi Lucy, good question. I could have been more clear on that point.
Changes to the resource graphs require a reinstallation of your custom
Arches app. So, the steps I would recommend are
1. Install arches and arches-HIP
2. Create a new app as directed in the documentation
3. Fully install this app
Hi Alison and Adam,
I hope you have enjoyed/are enjoying the festive season!
This is a very useful document to have - thank you, Adam - and as we are
just about a reinstall the latest release of Arches and make
customizations, (and remove our test data) I just wish to clarify the order
