Really nice and clean UI. Is it possible to get a preview of a data set in
a table format or any sort of a view, once we select the data source. If we
have a preview, it will be easy to get an idea about what kind of graph we
need. Again, it would be great if we have a 4th wizard
Hi Tanya,
As per our chat, first part of what I am proposing is
1. Using a table as underline data model ( you can think it as multi
dimensional data set)
2. Using each with different dimensions (e.g. X, Y axis, color, point size
etc) in the chart
3. Init data with generic chart, and let user
Hi,
I guess, for BAM 3.0, this can be the base for our eventual KPI
implementation as well. We will just need some additional functionality to
provide some limits to the data/visualizations we are having, and to show
it in an appropriate way, and to trigger alerts etc.. Looking forward to
More correctly, most probably BAM 3.1 plans :) ..
Cheers,
Anjana.

+1 , Are we going to add aggregate functions as well ( Ex. AVG ) to support
following types of queries.
Plot line chart of AVG GDP per decade.
Thanks

To keep the Viz simple, I like to to say we will SUM up the values if there
are multiple y values for same x values. If you need any other functions,
you do it in BAM or CEP.

Hi all,
With the current implementation of UES gadget gen tool we can support all
the features except the drill down feature. Please note that this is using
the flot charting library and if we are to go ahead with D3 we need to
model accordingly.
Please find my inline comments.

Currently to visualize the data, users have to write their own gadgets. If
a advanced user this is OK, but not for all. Specially, things like drill
downs need complicated planning.
I believe it is possible to start with data in tabular form, and write a
generic Gadget that let user configure and
In #2, I mean to say we will go and choose two columns in the table as X
and Y axis. E.g. In the plot, I have used year as the X axis and GDP as the
Y axis.
