*NA**. MUTHU KUMAR ON RAHMANIA – PART II *

*" Idhayam Mariyadhe" Song – Jodha Akbar Tamil *

The Director came down from Mumbai to Chennai. He just gave the situation of
the song, and also gave a English Translation of the Hindi Song. Rahman Sir
was in London at that time, and we spoke with each other through the webcam.
He was telling me not to see the lip syncing issues for Tamil, and to just
concentrate on the situation in the movie, and to come out with my own
inputs for the song , for the situation.

In Hindi, they would have written down the song from Third Person. Rahman
Sir told me not to get into the Hindi Version, and to think independently.
My inspiration for the song was " Kaalangalil Aval Vasantham" ( old song
featuring Gemini Ganesan ). I just imagined if the same song was done for
the present times, how it would have been done… **

*Mana Mohana Song *

Rahman sir suggested that I can include all possible known Divine Names of
Lord Krishna, and it made me write names like " Navaneetha". Rahman Sir gave
me full freedom for me to include all Tamil Names of Lord Krishna for the
song in Tamil

* *

*Ballelaka Song – Sivaji*

I usually like including metaphors in my works. I wanted to include details
about the greatness, uniqueness of Tamil Nadu in the song, and tried to
write in that fashion.

*Vaada Song – Sivaji *

Actually , in the beginning it was a Rap kind of a song, and was fully in
English by Blazee. Then, It was Rahman Sir, who wanted something to be
written in Tamil. The Director wanted some Punch Dialogues to be included in
the song, as the same wasn't highlighted anywhere else in the movie. We were
thinking of all possible Punch Lines, that can be included by Rajni Sir in
the song. Some of the Punch Dialogues, that we tried were as

" Stapler Adhicha Pin; Cell Phone adicha Ring; Sivaji adhicha Sangu"**

*Valayappati Thavil Song – ATM *

Actually, after writing down Elay Song for Sakkarakatti, and when the
recording got over, Rahman Sir asked, if we could stay for some more time,
and asked, if we were in a mood to write another song. That was the
Valayappati Song. Actually, in the beginning, we had written some other
lyrics, and Rahman Sir suggested that we can include all sorts of
instruments in the song lyrics itself, and make it sound different. It was
he who suggested the use of words of instruments like Thavil etc in that
song. It was the Instruments, that added so much of value and beauty to the
song, and it came out so differently, and specially..

*Nee Maryln Monroe Song *

Rahman Sir wanted some sort of a discotheque type of a song. He was in
London, when we had written some lyrics, and when he came back, he suggested
that we include words like Marlyn Monroe etc. He addresses me as Dr. at
times, as I hold a Ph D in Tamil Literature.

*Elay Elay – Sakkarakatti *

It was Rahman Sir's idea for the entire lyrics for the song. The theme of
the song was to picturise a group of boys aged about 8 – 10 years who would
grow up, and to highlight on their friendship. Earlier, I had written
philosophical lyrics. Rahman sir suggested that I was very serious, and the
same can be described in a different fashion. He gave us a hint like we can
try something like the boys peeking out from the terrace etc.

And also

" Charlie Chaplinkku Tamil Solli tharuvom"

He had suggested a lot of lyrics for the song.

*Taxi – Taxi *

Earlier, it was a very pure song. He suggested that we can explain
friendship in a very jolly manner. We wanted to try out something that can
describe friendship among young blood. The Director suggested that we could
think of something out of the word Taxi, and Rahman Sir also suggested that
we think and write something out of it, in terms of friendship.
