Now, I walked out of the 250-300 dollar area
as Rahman went for getting ready...I went outside the arena, and then
checked in the tickets again..:)
Strange!! they are not allowing into the 75$ area also...they didnt know that I
did all those stuff already, we have still time to get in
so,
grabbed some free stuff from the business partners..toy light..radium
pens...brochure etc...and by 9 we are inside the arena...
Infact the arena is very small, only 8000 people capacity. and its a sold out
show.
The show started around 9.30pm.
I am into my original seats...just took pen and paper..my mobile camera
ready....
and blaze addressed houstonites and introduced ARR...
ARR
started singing Jaagein hain...he was little behind and top when he was
singing that...and came to front stage once he done with jaage
hain...and started khalbali immediately with group of dancers wearing
complete white even with white masks.
crowd is so excited and cheeing a lot...
after
that sukhvinder came with madhushree came on stage..and started ramta
jogi from taal...immediate number was aayo re saki from water.
when singing song from water, the rhythm was out of sinch...then sivamani
covered with this beats
now, hariharan and chitra came onto stage...rojaa jaaneman followed by vaji
vaji from shivaji
Then Naresh Iyer, Blazee...paathshaala from RDB
Vijay and chitra sung Shaara(udit's version)
in between, the person who is sittin beside me
is non returning Indian in houston(NRI). He donno any of the artist
other than rahman..not even sukhvinder.
But he knows all local guys
from here..the radio jackie, council member etc..and he donno any of
the song..but still njoying it..
I asked, "you donno any of these
songs...you donno any of these crew except rahman, why u came to
concert? dont mistaken me..am asking, who forced you to come to
concert", then he showed his wife and mother insisted in coming to
concert...and asked do u like the songs for the first time itself...he
said"yes!" :)
Roobarooo was next, Rahman came front to sing along with Naresh Iyer
sund Saregamey(dont remember its order)...but they sung this one from Boys
followed
by chitr's kahna hi kyaa from Bombay..Rahman sung those ga ma ga pa
ni....from that song...it was different...so cool...
Then kabhi neem neem by rahman and madhushree..humming in this one also
different from the movie and its daman cool
Then Dil se re....by Rahman
After that again blazee and naresh iyer sung sega fightaa from sivaji
Then again Rahman back with athirathee from sivaji
Now sukhvinder turn again....He started chayya chayya this time...Now the
gujarati NRI knows this song...OMG!!!
One more funny incident from NRI's wife this time...she asked where i am
from...I told Hyderabad...and its in Andhra Pradesh..
then
she told "ok, but which part of in Hyderabad?, which district?", I
told, Hyderabad is not a state ;), then our complete row was in
laugh...:)
and the show is going on...
The next part was highlight of the show...
shivamani
beats with one american guy, john...its so cool...everyone njoyed..as
it is only music without lyrics...and the core part of reality show...
followed by turban wearing guy sung a song, for which i donno what language it
is also...check the video for the same
Then
Rahman, sat on his piano and told audience about performing a slow
number with some meaning..and gave little introduction about pray for
me brother..then sang the same one..
The organizers bored for a
while with some prize presentation!! that was the worst part of the
show...show off...and promoting themselves in between the show..
Some KJ awarded rahman as honorary houston citizen.
then chitra, madhushree, hariharan sat on chairs for some unplugged track, as
rahman was playing piano..
chitra sung one tamil song.
and one lady, who is attorney here in houston..called uma sung one song..dheeme
dheeme gaon...she sung well
then hariharn made audience singing with some aalap.
Then Rahman told hariharan in tamil, that sing one telugu song...the crowd was
cheering like anything when he said like that...
then Rahman started nelluri nerajaana from oke okkadu(mudhalvan)
followed by mayya mayya by madhushree then chandaa re by harihara, chitra.
Rahman back again with tere bina.
Then sukdhvinder with madhushree...meine samajh gayee..meine samajh gayee...
Then
chitra--ek onkar followed by Rang de basanti title song with the turban
guy...he was never stopping the song...rahman and chitra were laughing
:), the song was ended by chitra itself
then almost at the end of ths show...blazee
come up with one innovative idea...he came into audience where some ppl
were dancing...
then Rahman started, saying..where is blazee..then
blazee told, we can try something different...he started a different
version of humma humma from audience and made audience to sing the
song...and along with that picked the starting beats of humma humma and
Rahman started singing..and ended up by rahman and blazee
before
starting humma humma rahman told that, i never expected this good
response (may be preceeding cocert was not good) and he was little
tensed..but overall he satisfied with their performance and audience
response..
After that the final number....Maa tujhe salaam....and
rahman said.."Bye!" with a small smile after the show and all singers
came at the end of the song..there ends the story....around 12.30am
I filledup all memories of lifetime...and back to home...
