Aishwarya starrer 'Provoked' likely to be premiered at Cannes

Actor Aishwarya Rai starrer 'Provoked', a film based on the story of a battered Indian housewife who killed her husband in Britain a few years ago, is likely to be premiered at the Cannes film festival.
''The final copy of 'Provoked' is coming out in London on Tuesday and plans are afoot for a red carpet premiere in Cannes,'' film's director Jagmohan Mundhra, who is presently in Berlin for the film festival, said in an e-mail to UNI.
In the movie, Aishwarya plays the role of housewife, Kiranjit Ahluwalia.
Aishwarya has already being at Cannes twice, during the premiere of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Devdas' and once as a jury member.
Meanwhile, apart from Aishwarya, 'Provoked' also stars Naveen Andrews, Nandita Das, Miranda Richardson, Robbie Coltrane and Rebecca Pidgeon, while the music for the film has been scored by A R Rahman . The screenplay is by Carl Austin, based on a book called - Circle of Light, by Rahila Gupta and Kiranjit Ahluwalia.
The film is being presented by Metro Film Corporation, UK and has been produced by Sunanda Murali Manohar.
