ARR's version was a class apart . He experimented and the fusion was just brilliant. It was a unique track and the first carnatic classical piece that could be pumped up and played with terrific bass. And the singers added soul to it. What Illayraja did was nothing different. No offence..my opinio

I dont understand when people say that IR or ARR popularized Alaipayuthey Kanna or that song reached more coz of some particular MD. I believe Alaipayuthey Kanna was already a very popular carnatic song usually sung in weddings and all carnatic concerts. Over the years Many MD's have used son
