The film-maker whose latest *Slumdog Millionaire* is based in Mumbai and
tells the rags-to-riches of a slum-dweller who goes on to win USD 20 million
in a reality game show. "I'd love to do a thriller there next -- the energy
is extraordinary," Boyle told *The London

"They call it Maximum City which is absolutely accurate: the problems they
have there, the joys, the wonders, are absolutely maximum. It's a
passionate, romantic city, and it loves a love story," said the 52-year old
director Boyle received a lot of critical acclaim for *Slumdog.*..' and the
film recently swept all the four Golden Globe nominations and fetched India
its first Golden Globe

] with A R Rahman fetching the 'Best Original Music Score' for the movie.

"Despite all that has happened there recently it is a city moving towards
happiness. You have these incredible extremes but it feels like there's a
destiny that binds it all together," said Boyle referring to the recent
terror attacks in the commercial capital of the country.

The film-maker admitted he was keeping his 'feet on the ground' for any
Oscar nominations."The town basically votes for its own in the end, you have
to accept that and keep your feet on the ground. The value of it, of course,
is just getting in the room; the platform it gives to a small film like this
is remarkable," Boyle told the newspaper.

Boyle revealed that if he won a million pounds he would give it to a guy
called Raj who was first assistant director on the film *Slumdog Millionaire
* and works for street schools in Mumbai that are on the streets.

"You'd have to do something like that wouldn't you," he added.

Boyle also received an Oscar nomination for the best adapted screenplay for
his film *Trainspotting* in 1996. But he said that he knew he would not win
the Oscar that time.

"We should have know we weren't going to win, though. We were sat right at
the back," he said. Boyle is also toying with the idea of filming writer Irvine
Welsh's sequel to *Trainspotting* called *Porno*.

"We want to do it when the actors look more middle-aged. The problem is they
don't age quickly as the rest of us -- it's that Dorian Gray thing," he
added.
