Ashutosh Gowariker has cut a new set of promos for his forthcoming film, Jodhaa
Akbar. Yet, it seems to be a long way away from making it to the theatres. If
sources are to be believed, Gowariker is livid with Feroz Nadiadwala, producer
of Welcome, for refusing to attach these promos of Jodhaa Akbar to his film
Welcome, which is releasing on December 21.

UTV Motion Pictures, who are the official producers of Jodhaa Akbar, are
distributing Welcome along with Studio 18, and contractually the production
house can attach any promos they desire. However, Nadiadwala has prevented UTV
Motion Pictures from putting the Jodhaa Akbar promos for reasons best known to
him. A source close to Gowariker says, "As per contract clauses, the
distributor UTV and sub-distributor Studio 18 can join any film promos they
want with the main copy of Welcome. But Nadiadwala had a problem particularly
with the Jodhaa Akbar promos."

Apparently the reason is that Nadiadwala fears that Welcome will not look good
compared to Gowariker's much more lavish Jodhaa…

The distributors are putting up with Nadiadwala's demands as they fear that any
dispute will only delay the release of Welcome. From what we hear, Gowariker
had suggested UTV to resort to legal recourse. Eventually, they refrained from
doing so as it would have been a time consuming process.

When quizzed about it Nadiadwala says, "I have got nothing to do with it.
Please speak to the distributors." Gowariker remained unavailable for comment.
