Hey guys...I know every1s talking abt' Blue' nowadays....I do wish to talk abt Blue here.(Tho i will later) But i just happened to revisit the soundtrack of Deepa Mehta's film -'Water' recently. (complete contrast to blue)
Water is a briiliant soundtrack which completely reflects the mood and ambience of the subject of 'Water'. Given that the subject is serious and somewhat sad, Rahman has done some serious songs for this movie. Its an album which completely strays away from commercial cinema norms, and one which an average listener may never like. Each and every song is splendid. The songs have a rich classical influence.The singing is deep and full of and on the whole the soundtrack does have a soul. At the same time however, this soundtrack is heavy and may be the type to listen to repeatedly. Each of the songs is as complex and difficult to sing , as i am sure they must have been to compose. A real winner by A.R.Rahman. Anish.
