Here are my true feelings on Amit Trivedi.....

I respect him as a musician. I appreciate his crafty approach to music and
unique style. He's carved out a nice niche for himself and he is very
contemporary sounding. He is respectful towards other musicians and is himself
an ARR fan. I wish him all the best in his music career.

As much as I can appreciate the creative spark in his music, his music does not
connect with me on an emotional level, even after watching the films. I also
feel his style and versatility are a bit narrow in range.....his style is
mostly in the genres of Indie pop, grunge rock, light rock. His music also
lacks the type of sonic range, melodic versatility, sound textures, and
atmospherics/ambiance that I come to appreciate about someone like Rahman or
Vishal Bharadwaj. I like more of the smooth, softer sounds from Rahman,
Shantanu Moitra, and Vishal Bharadwaj. Amit Trivedi's music also is limited to
youth appeal....you won't find too many 40 plus folks liking his music beyond a
few songs here and there.

Amit Trivedi is talented and has a bright future, but his style of music just
doesn't connect with me much, apart from a few songs. My fav song of his of
late is "Shaam" from the album "Aisha". Really cool and sweet track. But,
overall, his music so far lacks the range, intensity, passion, texture that I
prefer to hear.

So, no, I don't believe that he is the next "Rahman" in the making. Just my
opinion.
