I also support this idea. Moreover I have a feeling that apart from doing movies ( in which Rahman has to compose music to suit the "song" situations in the movies), Rahman must be thinking more about composing his own albums like he did for JGM / Vande Maataram / Set me Free etc.
I am amazed by the compositions of SET ME FREE. I have made my hardcore english POP music-loving friends listen to this album without telling them who is the "group" and by default the answer is some US POP female artist group or sometimes THE CARPENTERS ! Such independent work I think Rahman will be happy to do anyday....
