Couple of thoughts, Even if there were to be a case, the case would be against not only ARR but almost every top singer in the country since the onus is ultimately on the singer. In addition to this, I wonder who in India can sing the Anthem in "exactly" 52 seconds which means almost every other person is succeptible; even the compalinant would miss the target time... There was a similar issue against NR Narayana Murthy (that the Anthem was not actually "sung") - I am not sure what happened to the case ultimately.
Thinking of these, I do not think the result would be dramatic. Regards. In the recent times ARR has contributed much for our country by rendering exemplary compositions like Vande Mataram, Taj Mahal Anthem, Pray for my brother and National Anthem, apart from his regular film compositions. ARR has created a history by dedicating such a wonderful albums to the entire nation. Due to his unbeatable growing popularity, some people who are enimical towards him clandestinely designed a criminal conspiracy to malign his name and reputation in order to gain cheap publicity. In this context it is very sad and pathetic to note a petition is being filed in the Hon'bl e High Court of Tamil Nadu by some person against ARR. No doubt the case will be ultimatley dismissed. In the contrary, if the Court thinks that ARR should be convicted for rendering such a nice compositions in the interest of this nation, then its well and > good, but the Hon'ble Court should also convict all his die hard fans around the globe. I hope that every die hard fan of ARR are prepared to demonstrate their solidarity in the crucial hours of need and rather they will certainly proud to go to Jail for the sake of ARR. > > Jai Hind, Long Live ARR and his Popularity. > > > SHAIK MAHABOOB > > ----- Original Message ---- > From: Ajit <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Tuesday, August 21, 2007 10:31:56 PM > Subject: [arr] Re: Imprisonement for ARR??? > > An amazing human being and legendary composer like Rahman creates a > breath-taking rendition of the National Anthem and amplifies national > pride among most Indians through this music, and now some are > declaring heresy and threats of imprisonment.
