The music of one of the most famous Hindi film “Slumdog Millionaire” directed by Danny Boyle, is composed by A.R. Rahman and a few songs are by M.I.A (Mathangi ‘Maya’ Arulpragasam),who is a famous UK based pop singer. Rahman composed the songs that are global (Western, African, Indian, pop etc.).No doubt Rahman can wait for a few more international awards for his composition this year.
“O… Saya” – The opening track of the album is by A R. Rahman and M.I.A and it is the introductory track of the film having energetic drum beats and effective background score. The theme is to depict the hustle bustle of Mumbai streets. This one is impressive and M.I.A‘s voice makes the song appear to be an international one. “Riots” –The track is by A R Rahman and it has African kind of drum beatings and some electronics sounds. “Mausam & Escape” - This is the best track having sound of sitar and guitar sounds together and it comes with a different fast composition from A. R. Rahman. “Paper Planes” - The track is by M.I.A and the track has been on number one position in chartbusters. This is a hip hop number with political lyrics by the lead protagonist of the film. A DFA remixed version of the song is also present in the album. ”Ringa Ringa” –The song has vocals of Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun and lyrics are of Raquib Alam. Vocals are from Madhumita and Palakkad Sriram and the output is impressive. “Latika Theme” –The track has humming by Suzanne D’Mello and it is a soft composition. “Liquid Dance” – The instrumental is by A. R. Rahman and it has vocals of Palakkad Sriram and Madhumitha .The composition is fiery and energetic. “Aaj Ki Raat” - The song is by Sonu Nigam, Mahalaxmi Lyer and Alisha Chinoi and it is a Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s dance song from the film “Don” that comes with additional electrifying beatings and lyrics. “Millionaire” –The instrumental “Millionaire” by A. R. Rahman and it has vocals of Madhumitha and it talks of the famous talk show. The instrumental is fast and lovely. “Gangsta Blues” – This is a hip hop sizzling number in African style and the vocals are of BlaaZe and Tanvi Shah. The song is impressive number to make it into charts. This is passionate emotional one. “Jai Ho” – Gulzar wrote the lyrics of the song that is in voice of Sukhvinder Singh, Tanvi Shah and Mahalaxmi Iyer and it has loud orchestra, happiness is theme of the track.
