As we're reacting to and discussing about Raavan/Raavanan, I want to gauge how we judge a new ARR album based on certain characteristics of his music. I may have asked this a long time back, but I'm interested in this topic again.
Here are some broad descriptors when thinking about a new ARR album (or any new album) Originality/Inventiveness Melody Rhythm Mood/Ambiance Sound Quality Genre Variety Arrangements/Instrumentation Broad Emotional Connection Lyrics Singing Quality How would you rank order these broad descriptors as far as what's most important to you when you judge a new ARR album? Some of these characteristics are tied to each other too: Here's my ranking: 1) Broad Emotional Connection 2) Melody 3) Arrangements/Instrumentation 4) Mood/Ambiance 5) Originality/Inventiveness 6) Sound Quality 7) Genre Variety 8) Singing 9) Rhythm 10) Lyrics It doesn't mean that what's at 7,8,9 is not important to me....just relatively less important compared to what's ranked at top.
