hi everyone, this is based on much time, thought, and many many times listening to the Sivaji soundtrack.
first off, i apologize for reviewing the leaked tracks...it's not fair to review unfinished tracks in the same manner one would review finished ones sivaji is the best album of the ARR-Rajni team, and it upholds the reputation of the ARR-Shankar team my favorite thing about the album is it s sheer VARIETY...very very rich indeed! BALLELAKA Pros: -SPB is incredible! -rustic yet modern -very catchy..can't help singing along with the chorus -so energetic Cons: -wish some real drums were used along with the synthesized ones (or instead) Rating: 9.5/10 SAHANA Pros: -what a melody! -excellent singer choice -great incorporation of strings and chorus -loved th little tabla parts...and ARR's interlude Cons: -the background beat wasn't the best Rating: 9/10 VAAJI SIVAJI Pros: -catchy -hariharan's singing -energetic Cons: -melody in some of the middle verses not so inspired -not a standout track...has a very ordinary (though good) vibe to it Rating: 7/10 ATHIRADEE Pros: -everything (originality, one of ARR's best vocal performances, sayonara!, electric guitar, overall vibe, etc. etc) Cons: -nothing Rating:10/10 STYLE Pros: -originality, great incorporation of rap,very international Cons: -long, wished there was use of real electric guitar Rating: 9/10 THE BOSS Pros: -makes you get fired up -awesome fusion Cons: -ARR's used similar programming before...(i don;t know the name of the particular sound effect) Rating: 8.5/10 SAHARA Pros: -great soundscape -singing Cons: -lengthy -wish the flute pieces were different from the melody (b/c a lot of MD's know have flute interludes playing the same melody as the song) -not as good as Sahana Rating: 8/10 OVERALL RATING: 9/10 One of ARR's most fun albums!
