just a thought, why do the notifications off the table, why not do them off
the Task and the Child Incident? So you do the notification when you create the
Task or the child incident, if the Assignee field is populated then send the
notification to the the person, if it is empty then send
You can run 2008 in a 2005 mode if you want to.. SQL servers are backward
compatible like that.. You need to however use the sp_dbcmptlevel stored
proceedure to make a SQL database forward or backward compatible..
I've used it a few times in relation to ARS and it works..

Well all I can tell you is I was told by support that SQL 2008 would only be
supported for ARS 7.5 and higher. This put a crimp in our plans to move to SQL
2008. Maybe David can clear this up.
