Remedy Software Engineer General Dynamics - Advanced Information Systems Job Location: Virginia Fairfax
Required Clearance: Secret Is a Clearance Level Required?: Yes-active, transferable upon date of hire Specific Responsibilities: Individual hired will participate in full lifecycle software development and deployment in a complex, high availability, mission critical environment. The applicant will be part of a team developing a custom, enterprise Remedy (6.x) web application for the NICC Watch Operations 24x7x365 environment. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, prototyping, analysis and documentation, product development, support of QA testing, and implementation. Applicant must be a team player and willing to take direction from project leaders, mentor junior developers, and learn new technologies. Individual hired will need to be flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment and provide occasional off-hour support to customers 24x7x365 mission. Basic Qualifications: A Masters degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years directly related experience or a Bachelors degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years directly related experience is also required. Equivalent years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements. Minimum 5 years experience with BMC Remedy ARS 6.x basic and advanced workflow techniques BMC Remedy Mid-Tier Due to the nature of work performed in our facility, U.S. citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: This position requires five or more years experience with the following: BMC Remedy (6.x experience preferred) as an Administrator/Developer in a medium to large-scale environment; the BMC Remedy Mid-Tier; basic and advanced workflow techniques and a good understanding of UI principles; and a UNIX / Oracle environment. Experience integrating BMC Remedy (6.x) with other systems and applications is highly desirable. RAC or RSP is preferred. Good customer communication skills are a must. The following skills are highly desirable: Unix (Solaris preferred) Proficiency in JSP and web development Experience in software development documentation Relational Database Concepts RAC or RSP certification BMC Remedy ARS API programming - C, Java or Perl RUP Methodology and Use Case Modeling Oracle 10g - including PL/SQL BEA WebLogic web server Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is desired Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
