For all of you who have been requesting that I get back to having TRUG meetings, I am excited to announce that we are having a gathering of Texas Remedy folks in Austin on May 5th, 2006 (Friday) at the Dave and Buster’s in the Arboretum. We have a great day prepared for you with presentations by our sponsors Invoq Systems, Above All Software and Adapt LLC. I will be presenting the CMDB, and have invited another veteran RAC to share his (continuing) real world experiences with the CMDB including patching up to the latest version. Other potential topics I have are “Sure Fire Ways to Kill and IT Project (and how to avoid them)” based upon many years of “experiences” in both Public and Private sector at various clients in addition to an “ITIL Primer”. Those in attendance will get to decide what presentations we have and make additional discussion topic suggestions for the group. There is wireless access throughout the facility so bring your laptop and connect (Tell your boss you won’t miss an SLA, or better yet bring them and let them hear how to solve the questions they keep asking you!). Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors we will start the day will start with pastries and refreshments at 0830, meeting to commence at 0900, have a full hot buffet lunch from 1230-1330, and afternoon snacks ending at around 4 PM (but I know how you all like to stay around and share). If you have not been to one of these full day affairs, you are in for a treat. There is no cost to attend this meeting but you must register to attend so please RSVP at the link provided on http://www.bullcreek.com/bcd_pages/user_groups.htm<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.bullcreek.com_bcd-5Fpages_user-5Fgroups.htm&d=DwMFaQ&c=cBOA5YEoZuz9KdLvh38YxdrPtfJt83ckXekfBgq5xB0&r=TjDOQeE84FB3IkKBOKJ7-reBz8qKDLQv4sMWw_GFxq4ypeuVm4ZMlj00hGeKuFbo&m=Z8qG6v1GkBL2LY86JPy2VYjZLECjDJgO6QSzxcwXW4U&s=cQk-VXbhBaWPczQ9o7LtWlCRFVpdSybWLN9Aq5uTQUs&e=> under “Register Here” - (yes we do use the Remedy Mid-tier and AR System so you may need to enable cookies temporarily). All current Remedy Users, Administrators, Managers, and Executive IT Staff are invited as well as anyone with interest in the AR System and its integrations. We are expecting a full house with the inevitable discussions about the CMDB, AR System 7 and ITSM 7 and giving stuff away all day long so make sure you register early, seating is limited and we are less than a month away! Please contact me directly with any questions, issues or concerns. Those were the days, huh? Bull Creek Data did one local User Group each quarter. We had fun at Dave & Busters! Well, with BMC now doing their single day "Exchange" series of local events, I am interested to see how many of us Remedy folks are interested in a multi-day event like the good old days. I have created a survey to find out what people want to see, liked, hated, where they would want it held, etc. I will put the link below and pass (or use) the data to see what can be done to help get an event on the calendar this year. Mind you, I am only one person but your input will be a big motivator and would clearly let people know what you want, don't want, and where you would like to see it. Please take a moment to fill out the survey (if you haven't already) and let's see what data we get (after all DATA is King!). I really appreciate all of the time and effort he put in to coordinate those local events in Houston, Austin and Dallas. I miss that purple suit. ;) BMC did put together a “BMC Software Conference(?)” one day conference in 2006 or 2007 in Dallas. It was like a mini-RUG crammed in one full day. There were even different sessions one could attend. It was very informative and FREE. Even Doug Mueller was there. Hopefully, BMC could do something like that again.
