Adding in another server entry in the midtier config does indeed double
up on all entry points in the quick links menu. This is true for
7.1-7.6. this is good if you are logging onto two different remedy
instances, bad if you are logging into one. This is useful for those of
us using a test midtier which can access prod and test at the same time
(assuming same userid and password) - it is however very confusing for
end users and never be done on a prod midtier.

The way I get the name I want in the URL is to use a short name in the
midtier config e.g. remedy7 and have a hosts entry on the midtier server
that resolves this to a fully qualified name and ip address. The URL
seen in the Midtier shows the hosts name for the remedy instance. The
name chosen does not have to have any correlation to the real instance
short or long name. Though to prevent confusion it helps to keep it the
same as the short name.

i.e.
https://myDSN/arsys/forms/remedy7/Home+Page/Default+Admin+View/?cacheid=
cea1658e

However none of this helps you with the URL that will appear in the
notification. Setting values in the ar.conf/cfg file will not help -
Thad's suggestion is perhaps best.
