Not sure what version but did you make sure to check the box for approvals on
the tab on the SRD?

I have created a Approval Process configuration for SRD, approval mapping
and created a SRD and moved the status to Request for Approval.
However the SRD went to Deployed which is online.
Inspite of having approval mappings, SRD is going for Approval. Kindly need
your assistance.
