Single to Multi-tenancy Conversion

Hi Everyone, What is the best way to convert a single tenancy ITSM installation to a multi-tenancy installation? Does it make sense to export the data out of the system into spreadsheets make our changes ' and then use the ITSM Data Management tool to import / validate the changed data? or
