For me the iteration always converges and I don't get any errors. Also the

is always the same, just as expected. Is this really exactly the code that your

We provide the TIPS as published by HITRAN via an XML file in:
arts-xml-data/spectroscopy/PartitionSums/TIPS/tips.xml. The README
contains some more information.
About the 300 K limit today, I do not know where it is from and the
