Please find the requirement below and let me know your interest.. *POSITION* *Linux Engineer (10+years)* *Richfield, MN* *6+months* *Project Description*: This position will initially work on an initiative called Space Planning that will implement Hortonworks 2.2 Hadoop platform as part of the application stack and will be a key component of the platform. The Engineer will also assist in engineering functions for another initiative that leverages Hadoop as the key component of the platform. *Position Overview:* Responsibilities/Deliverables that the resource will be responsible for: We are looking for a talented Linux Engineer that will engineer and deliver Hadoop platforms at Best Buy. This is a very critical role and will help Best Buy continue to advance IT that leverages NoSQL platforms. Key position responsibilities include: • Lead the design of a large scale Hadoop deployment for a critical Best Buy application • Implement a large scale Hadoop deployment on RHEL 6.X leveraging a virtualized (KVM) or bare metal deployment • Implement the Hadoop platform leveraging infrastructure automation via Puppet • Participate in daily sprint meetings and provide updates to assigned tasks • Interact with Best Buy and outsourced development, application operations, and infrastructure operations teams • Assist in tuning the Hadoop platform • Operationalize the Hadoop platform by transitioning knowledge to a service provider • Participate as a resource in multiple initiatives that leverage a Hadoop platform • Provide Level Three problem escalation, support ,and troubleshooting • Create and maintain technical documentation – operational run book, standards, and supporting documentation • Ensure compliance of all solutions to established security guidelines, approved standards, and approved company policies *The ideal candidates will possess:* • 10 or more years Linux engineering experience (preferably RHEL 5.X and later) and IT systems • Linux virtualization experience (preferably KVM and RHEV) • Experience with large scale distributed systems • Hands on experience working with at least one major NoSQL data platform (preferably Hadoop) • Hands on experience with infrastructure automation and at least one scripting language (preferably Puppet) • Able to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools • Cassandra Experience is a preferred *Thanks and Regards,* *Shilpi Bisht* *Sr. Technical Recruiter* *IDC Technologies* *1851 McCarthy Boulevard, Suite 116|Milpitas, CA , USA, 95035* *408-459-1965 [Direct] I shilpi.bi...@idctechnologies.com <shilpi.bi...@idctechnologies.com>* *www.idctechnologies.com* <http://www.idctechnologies.com/> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Companies Looking for IT Out Staffing & Recruitment" group.
