THE ASBURY PARK OYSTER FESTIVAL WEEKEND
ARRIVES AT LAKE AVENUE ON
SATURDAY & SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 & 12

Asbury Park August 2010 The Asbury Park Oyster Festival has now become one
of Asbury's biggest FREE festivals, stretching over two days and turning scenic
Lake Avenue into one long funway of oysters, festival foods, non-stop musical
entertainment, children's rides and amusements, over 100 crafters and gift
vendors, plus beer and wine (with proper ID). The festival runs Saturday,
September 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 12, from 10:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
TWO FULL DAYS, NEW LAKE AVENUE LOCATION "Now in our 4th year, and thanks to
popular demand, the Asbury Park Oyster Festival is expanding into a full
weekend with a new home on water-lined Lake Avenue," says Cindi D'Onofrio,
executive director of the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce, which co-hosts the
Oyster Festival with The Passion Group. "Admission is free and the fun goes on
rain or shine."
9/11 OBSERVANCE WITH THUNDER 98.5'S CAPTAIN JACK AT 10:00 A.M. ON SATURDAY Join
Thunder 98.5's popular DJ "Captain Jack" as he officially opens Oysterfest with
a patriotic remembrance ceremony. Join The Boss of the Beach in singing the
National Anthem and a program of patriotic favorites. Shinn Cranes of Lakewood
will be raising a huge American flag that will fly over Oysterfest all weekend
long.
OYSTERS, OYSTERS & MORE An Oyster Oasis will highlight the Oysterfest,
featuring signature specials from Lusty Lobster, Jake's Crab Shack, Tiger Tail
and Bahr's Landing. Also participating are more than 25 area eateries like the
Jersey Shore's famous Windmill Hot Dogs, Giamano's, Tenth Ave Burrito, Ragin'
Cajun, Irene's Cuisine, Wafflelicious, Jersey Shore BBQ, Chippies and more
festival favorites, plus an oyster eating contest with celebrity judges and
oyster shucking.
MUSICAL LINEUP Jazz Lobsters, Funktion 11, Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash Tribute
Band, After the Reign, Liv Devine, Random Test, Black Berry Blues Band, Eryn
Shewell, The Rock-N-Roll Chorus plus 15 other musical acts will perform. "It's
an amazing lineup of musical talent," says Mike Hollemans, Logistics Director
for The Passion Group. "There's going to be great music all weekend long
just what everyone expects in Asbury Park."
Children's Entertainment There's non-stop fun for kids, too, with super big
inflatables, amusement rides, the trackless train plus games and face painting.
Close to 100 Crafters and Vendors Our craft and vendor area is its own outdoor
mini mall, with handmade candles, vintage video games, unique jewelry, handbags
and clothing plus artful beer steins, photography, jewelry, even mini massages
and temporary tattoos.
