ASBURY PARK — An 18-year-old city man was shot at First Avenue and Main Street
this
afternoon. Emergency medical responders treated the man inside Home Drug Store
at 814
Main Street and took him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune,
Fire Inspector
Garrett Giberson said.

The man's wound — or wounds — was not life-threatening, Giberson said. The call
for help
came in to the fire department at 2:57 p.m.

City Manager Terence Reidy said a man had been arrested with a gun on him in
connection
with the shooting. Police are still on the scene, and may be searching for
additional suspects.

A section of First Avenue near the drug store was cordoned off by yellow police
tape. Two
orange cones on the north side of First Avenue marked where bullet casings lay.
