Is this city stuck with Asbury Partners in such a way that they can't be legally
removed from
the redevelopment?
Have they met their goals?
Is the work they are doing in the best interest of the future of the city?
In the coming days, when we see The Wonder Bar boarded up for no reason at all,
all of us
are going to have another incredibly depressing sight to contend with.
Although I was only able to spend a short time there last night because I have
the worst cold
i've had in years, I was blown away by how many people showed up.
The Wonder Bar is an obviously successful business that people love and care
about.
Much of the redevelopment that has been placed in Asbury Partners hands is
moving at a
snails pace. Despite the little improvements here and there, we still have acres
of empty
depressing lots.
Putting the future of AP in real estate developers hands was a huge mistake.
Asbury Park was
never meant to be condo city. We already have way too much of that in our state,
and our
country.
