Although Asbury Park is one of the few places to throughly throw away a
potential windfall in tourism for home rule.  Let's face it, Asbury really
is a unique case.  Ask any ten people in Europe if they've ever heard of
Toms River and you probably won't find one.  Ask ten about Asbury and most
likely they have.  Cities spend millions of dollars for the name recognition
that Asbury is simply throwing away...
