TRENTON, N.J. -- State and federal agents rounded up 20 members of the
Bloods street gang in a series of raids Thursday that began before dawn
and spanned three New Jersey counties and Bucks County in Pennsylvania.

Authorities said gang members were arrested in Monmouth, Mercer and
Ocean counties in New Jersey and in Bristol, Pa. They are suspected
members of the Sex Money Murder set of the Bloods.

Nine weapons were seized in the raids, which ended around 9:30 a.m.

The suspects were taken to the state police complex in Hamilton
Township, Mercer County, for processing.

Warrants have been issued for five additional gang members, authorities
said.

Numerous federal, state and local police agencies were involved in the
raids, known collectively as Operation Dog Pound.

A briefing on the operation was scheduled for Thursday afternoon at the
state police's Regional Operations Intelligence Center, known as The
Rock, at the West Trenton headquarters.

Thursday's raids were similar to a gang takedown in July in which more
than 60 members of the Nine Tre Gangsters were arrested in cities across
the state, including four gang leaders who authorities said were
directing gang activities from inside state prison.

The Nine Tre's are a notoriously violent set of the Bloods street gang.
