What's better than reading ones own words?  It's hearing you say your own words in your own voice on VIDEO TAPE.  YO, I got the Debate on Video Tape.

Now if POWER BROKER JOE, (OH, So Sorry I didn't know who you were, I thought you ignored my posts because I was a girl, lol ) would be so kind as to contact me, perhaps he can do what his BOSS, Terry, said do along time ago, put my tapes over the Official City Web Site.  That also includes the Fishman's presentation on the Infrastructure, uncut.

Kate Mellina, on Historic Preservation in Asbury Park:

When it comes to preservation, um, the developers didn't destroy
Asbury Park's historic treasures, Asbury Park destroyed its own
historic treasures the way it destroys just about everything else in
its infrastructure from recreation to job opportunities to
neighborhoods. Right now, we're working on that same damn
(unintelligible) was talking about. This development is gonna give
us, we were running in the hole with those buildings and we were
destroying things like the Casino, the Paramount. We now have a plan
where we did not give those guys those buildings they have to
historically restore them its going to cost them so many damn
millions of dollars when they wake up they're going to be begging to
get out from under it and the best thing we can do is hold their
nose to the grindstone and buildings like the bandshell  I think
we're in a bargaining position to make sure they don't go anywhere
and that's what we need to do. And you say you know, um, if I had
ten dollars to spend do I spend it on the Casino or uptown…*cut off*

Deputy Mayor James Bruno, on Historic Preservation in Asbury Park:

If the building is worth saving, you should save it. I personally
feel if its not worth saving, you have to get rid of it. You can't
just save every historical building,  if you don't know its going to
be.  If it did, it has to be evaluated, it has to be looked at,
there's a cost factor. If it can be saved, and its feasible, then I
would look into it.
