Hey all, Of my many fun projects, one is collecting information about the cultural contribution of the Romani people. I gather the information and donate it to the Romani Archives at UT Austin. My own focus is the American South but since I'm here now...
If any of you have stories, photos or references that you can share please let me know. I've seen two references in "4th of July, Asbury Park" by Daniel Wolff. The first is on page 94 and is only useful in that mentions a band of Gypsies camped in the area in November, 1910. The second reference is to the West Side and the Italians, African American and Gypsies that played music there. I can't find the page number now. I'd seen it when I was reading a borrowed copy. BTW, you can read my article on Pennsylania Dutch German Gypsies at: http://www.geocities.com/Paris/5121/melungeon.htm Linda Griggs Yahoo!
