Mystery Writer Clark Guests on Restore Radio – 88.1 FM

There’s something about the ocean side tranquility of Ocean Grove that mystery writers can’t resist and Mary Jane Clark is no exception. Her latest novel, Dancing in the Dark, is a delight for locals with a penchant for finding local references, of which Clark’s book has many, in OG as well as Asbury Park. Natives of the latter will excuse Clark’s use of the grittier parts of Asbury to express the seedier side of her plot, which tracks a killer of teenage girls to the city’s historic Casino building.

Clark will be our call-in guest on Restore by the Shore tonight (8/4/05) at 8:30 PM. Listeners can ask Clark questions by calling in on 732-775-6203.

The summer beach theme will be rounded out by the in-studio appearance of “The Ironbound Crooner”, music man John Padovano, with his “songs from a boardwalk music hall.”

On this same show, Frank D’Alessandro, owner of the Stephen Crane House, will discuss the book he produced, with historian Werner Baumgartner, to document the 125-year history of The Church of the Holy Spirit, in Asbury Park.

From 9:30 until 10 PM, host Maureen Nevin and guests will take calls regarding Police Director Louis Jordan, whose disputes with City Manager Terry Reidy have been local front page news this week, ever since Reidy announced he won't be renewing Jordan's contract in Dec. Marianne Kizlowski, of the weekly on-air column, called “The Kiz’n Tell Report”, will join us in the studio. Hope you'll be there, too!!
