The incumbents have run out of gas. Their desperate groveling is becoming sad.
The ONEASBURY ticket is interesting. I think Quinn, Woerner and Crank may be a
bit young and idealistic. Perhaps another four years of seasoning will get them
there. But not now. Myra Campbell and John Mohr are very respectable
candidates. Honorable citizens of Asbury for many years. Sister Rosetta
Johnson's ticket I have to dismiss politically; not as upstanding citizens.
Where has Rosetta been the last four years. In 2009 she threw together a ticket
of amateurs to run with her and got beaten badly. And Bruno, Henderson and
Sanders were very beatable in 2009. Now, four years later, she pulls the same
thing, throwing together a ticket of political neophytes at the last second. No
money or organization. Its frankly an insult to the electorate to think you can
just jump in at the eleventh hour and insist you're better than the others who
have been working for months. Harold and Randy are wasting our time
running.....The 'A Team' is targeting many of Asbury's disaffected voters. And
the fact there are so many people who feel they are on the outside looking in
tells you how bad the situation in this city really is. A drive down Cookman
does not address the myriad problems we face. I didn't know any PhD's lived in
town. To have a tenured professor from Rutgers running for council is a feather
in our caps. Dr. Hyland should be elected by a landslide if people have any
common sense. But sadly, this is Asbury Park. We are totally stagnant. Change
must come!
