Talk about building quickly:
Aug 1928: The Asbury Park City Commissioners have asked that bids be presented
by Sept.
25 for the proposed $2,500,000 convention hall, amusement pier and theatre on
the ocean
front. Work, it is said, will begin immediately upon awarding of the contract
and the structure
will be completed by the Spring of 1929.
