Sorry to hear that 2 fine police officers mom has pasted away. She left a very good impression on me when she ran for city council. A very extraordinary women.

DOREEN G. MILLER TOWNSEND, of ASBURY PARK, died Monday, May 1, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Irvington, she lived in Middletown, Arlington, Texas, and Brandon, Miss., before moving to Asbury Park 15 years ago. Ms. Townsend served in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman Third Class and was stationed in Ramstein, Germany. She was a human resource specialist at Fort Monmouth for 16 years at the time of her death. A past deacon with the Presbyterian Church on the Hill, Ocean Township, she also was active in the Asbury Park community.
Ms. Townsend was predeceased by her brother, Charles Miller Jr., in 2005. Ms. Townsend is survived by her mother, Doris Mae Miller; three sons, Aaron Townsend and his wife Laura of Millstone Township, Brian Townsend and his wife Allyson of Jackson, and Nicholas Townsend of Asbury Park; her sister, Charleen Miller Frankie of Interlaken; her brother, Joseph Paul Miller of Green Mountain, N.C.; her four very special grandchildren, Morgan and Sydney Townsend, and Lesley and Garret Townsend; several nieces and nephews; and her former husband, A.J. Townsend.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson-McGinley Funeral Home, 2652 Highway 138 (corner of Route 18 North Entrance), Wall. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Turner presiding. Interment with military honors will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
